Foundry is made and sold by Signal Surge LLC ("we" on this page). This page covers Foundry (from version 1.0), the Foundry Uploader, Foundry Pro and this website. Short version: the apps work on your PC, and your replays only leave it if you upload them to ballchasing.com. The website has no analytics and no cookies.
On your PC
What the apps read. After matches, Foundry reads the replays you save and Rocket League's own log files. Your replays stay where Rocket League saves them. The apps never change or delete them.
Match recording (optional). Only if you turn it on, the apps read Rocket League's official Stats API while you play, over a connection that stays on your PC. To do that they change one game setting: PacketSendRate in TAStatsAPI.ini. A copy of the file is kept first, and turning match recording off puts the setting back.
What they never do. They never read the game's memory, and they change no other game file.
What they keep. Settings, analyses, recorded matches, logs and crash files stay in folders on your PC. The guide lists them. Crash files are never sent anywhere. A Pro key and its activation are stored encrypted.
What goes online
Checking for a new version. At start-up, and once a day while it's open, Foundry downloads a small file from downloads.rlfoundry.io that says what the newest version is. The request carries nothing about you, and the app never installs anything by itself. Cloudflare, which hosts the file, sees your IP address, as it does for any download.
ballchasing.com, only if you add your key. The apps check the key with ballchasing.com, upload your replays there, and read back the stats of the replays you upload. That's under ballchasing.com's own terms, with the visibility you pick. Replays hold the names and platform IDs of everyone in the match.
Foundry Pro, only if you enter a key. When you activate a key, the app sends our license service (api.rlfoundry.io, which runs on Cloudflare):
- the key;
- a name for this PC, which you type (it starts as the PC's name, and it can be anything you like);
- the app's name and version;
- a one-way hash of your PC's Windows machine ID. The raw machine ID never leaves your PC, but the hash stays the same for that PC, so it works as a lasting ID for it.
After that, about once a day, the app sends the key, the activation ID, the same hash, the app's version and its update channel to keep Pro running.
What's kept, and where.
- Polar keeps the key and each activation (the PC name, the hash, the app and the version) until it is deleted.
- Our license service keeps a few records on Cloudflare:
- one per key, filed under a one-way hash of the key, holding Polar's IDs for you and your key, for up to 400 days;
- your subscription's status (for example active or past due), filed under your Polar customer ID, for up to 400 days;
- a note of a refund, filed under your Polar customer ID, for 30 days;
- if a key is locked after a chargeback or fraud, a lock record under the key's or your Polar customer ID, kept until the lock is lifted;
- short-lived technical records (receipts for Polar's messages and rate-limit counters), kept 7 days at most.
- Our own logs never hold your key, your email or your IP address, and we keep them for 30 days at most.
- Cloudflare processes your IP address to run the license service, as it does for the website, and its platform may log it under Cloudflare's own retention.
To have your activations and our records deleted, email us. We do it within 30 days.
Buying Pro. Polar sells Pro for us as the merchant of record. Polar holds your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see your card. Linking your Discord account in Polar, for the Pro role, is optional, and Polar keeps that link if you do.
Nothing else. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports. If you report a bug, you choose what to paste: "Copy diagnostics" shows exactly what it copies first, and it never includes your ballchasing key, your account IDs or your own account names. Other players' names can show up in a log line, so look over the preview before you post it.
Send logs, replays or crash dumps only when we ask, and only privately. Replays carry other players' names and IDs, and a crash dump can hold your upload key.
CSV exports
The CSV exports and "Export my data" save files on your PC. Those files hold the names and platform IDs of everyone in your matches, opponents included. Keep that in mind before you share one.
This website
- No analytics, no cookies, no tracking. The site loads nothing from other websites: no outside scripts, fonts or images, and it runs no scripts at all.
- Hosting. The site and the downloads are hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and standard request data to serve the files and protect the site. We keep no logs of our own for the site or the downloads.
Discord
What you post in the RL Foundry Discord is handled by Discord under its own privacy policy, and anyone in that channel can see it.
